Drew's Graduation/Entrance into Adulthood!

After 8 long years of hard work, Drew is finally DONE!!!! He went through 4 years of med school at UC Davis & has just completed 4 years of residency in Anesthesia at UCSD. Whoo-hoo!!! We're excited & had a fun-filled weekend with family & friends.
His graduation reception was held Saturday evening at the Martin Johnson House at Scripps Institution of Oceanography- a gorgeous site!
Here's the Dao family with some mighty proud parents.
Drew with his renowned mentor, Dr. Piyush Patel, who gave him quite a roasting that night with some help from moi. One of the pictures I sent Dr. Patel mortified Drew's mom...thus no posting of it here. :)
His graduating class of 12 with the rest of the UCSD Anesthesia department. I love anesthesiologists & their fun, easy-going attitudes.
The reception starts...
(That's Drew's sister, Ann & his cousin Mai in the hot pink dress -both physicians as well. It seems to run in the family!)
My hubby standing proudly as they acknowledge the four chief residents.
Dr. Patel's roast starts:
Drew's quite amused by what Dr. Patel has to say.
Laughing with his resident buddies as the skits they made mocking their attendings is played on the screen.
Yay - I'm SO proud of him!!!

YEPEEE! CONGRATULATIONS DREW!!! I'm gonna miss you guys when you leave for Phoenix for the next stage of your lives together.
Congrats!!! We DID miss a beautiful grad site, didn't we? I'm so happy for you two!! Thanks for posting these - I heard that skit video was HILARIOUS. -Maki
