Michelle & Bryan, 10.14.07

Michelle & Bryan's wedding was a blast to photograph! It was beautiful, as most weddings are, but it was the people here and all the quirkiness (a la Michelle & Bryan) that made it so much fun. We started off at The Dana on Mission Bay where Michelle got ready for the big day.

The ceremony was held on South Mission Beach with Michelle's brother Mark marrying them in the hilarious fashion that would become one of the themes of their wedding. There was plenty of laughter going on throughout the whole wedding day.

As the moms poured sand, their friend Andy played "Power of Two" on his guitar.

I'm not sure why there was a gnome at the wedding, but apparently he's been following Michelle & Bryan around for a while now.

The best cake I've ever had at a wedding...ice-cream cake from ColdStone!

The celebration continued on into the night with a lively reception. There were so many bodies out on the dance floor, never mind the fact that it was a Sunday night!

My favorite was the conga line...

which eventually turned into a tunnel - so cool!

Congratulations you two! It was such a pleasure witnessing the love you share with each other & with your friends and family.

Betsy & Charlie, 10/07/07

I was so glad to get the chance to head out to the mountains for Betsy and Charlie's wedding last Sunday. I'm a Bay Area girl and miss the woods and the serenity it brings. Their wedding was held at the Pine Hills Lodge near Julian.

Betsy had their wedding date embroidered onto her Converse shoes.

The bride had no pre-wedding jitters, only utter contentment. She was so happy & calm getting ready in her cabin with the girls.

During the ceremony, Betsy's dad played a Native American song on the flute for them.

I think that smile and happy-go-lucky attitude is one of the reasons why Charlie married her.

The reception room in Pine Hills had a wonderful, rustic feel to it.

You don't know how hard it was for me to keep my hands off these.

I love it when couples smash cake in each other's faces.

Betsy's niece, Carlin and nephew, Blake were having a ball dancing with Amber.

Good-bye happy couple & best of luck!

And I just had to throw in this image of the AWEsome sunset on the drive back to San Diego.

Vicki & Ryan, 10/05/07

Vicki and Ryan were married on a bright and sunny day at Del Mar's Powerhouse Community Center. The views of the ocean were spectacular for the ceremony.

The bride & groom, along with many of their family & friends were from Phoenix. Others traveled all the way from the East Coast to celebrate their union. Vicki was full of emotion and energy before the ceremony and it was contagious!

I love these rocking chairs inside the reception hall.

So does Ryan's niece.

The bride makes her grand entrance with her nephew as dad waited at the bottom to walk her down the aisle.

A very happy newly married couple. Hooray!

After the ceremony, we headed down to the beach for some fun.

Vicki & the girls goofing around to try & stay warm. It was a bit chilly that day.

Ryan's best man sporting the Ray Ban's.

These two are such a cute couple, and I'm sure they've heard it before.

At the reception, Vicki's dad brought out a Polish tradition of bread, salt, and wine for the bride and groom. Bread, so that their children shall never go hungry. Salt, to remind them of life's struggles (but to hang in there!), and wine for a lifetime of good health and happiness.

Vicki's nephew also had a treat in store for everyone. He had practiced a dance routine for three months and entertained all the guests with his mad skills!

I think the skills run in the family because Vicki's mom was getting down on the dance floor too.

A good time was had by all...

and the night ended with a gorgeous sunset.

Congratulations you two!
